We are a charity and our services are free to bereaved families.
AAFDA has over a decade of experience advocating for families after the homicide, suicide or unexplained death of their family member or friend, following domestic abuse. AAFDA was established in 2008 by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will, whose murders in 2003 resulted in the pilot Domestic Homicide Review being conducted. Domestic Homicide Reviews later became law in 2011.

We get victims voices heard.
If you live in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, and you have lost a loved one to homicide, suicide or unexplained death, we offer emotional and practical support (specialist advocacy and peer support).
Our specialism is reviews and inquests (for example, Domestic Homicide Reviews / Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews, and other reviews connected to domestic abuse such as Safeguarding Adult Reviews, Child Death Reviews).
